Biryani! The name is on everyone’s lip across the globe! This dish is such a thing to die for in every place that you visit. It’s often said that any dish that carries a tradition that started from generations passed by is always the best πŸ™‚ the style, the ingredients, the way you make it right up to the flavors in each makes a lot of difference.

From the start in Persia to the ‘rise of the rice’ by the Mughals to India and then spread across to the Awadhi cuisine of Lucknow and leaping to south India in Hyderabad and Kerala this has been one dish that has gone all the way across the globe and now we stop at one such place in Mumbai where each and every element in it has been taken from tasting all the different biryanis and landing it into one plate. Biryani 360 was the one stop destination for me to savor the flavor πŸ˜€

I was invited to come over for lunch by the CEO of Biryani 360 Shayan Italia. Keeping an empty stomach on a hot Sunday afternoon I went on the hunt for magical biryani with my brother in arms Jay Dhawan to try this place.

This place is not hard to find, its just walking distance from Bandra station in the west, right next to the big glass building of PWC. You will need to get into the back entrance on the building besides and right up on the first floor which you sure wont miss the door! This is a delivery oriented joint, so no fine dine needed just pick up and go home and enjoy!

The Idea:

So you got a singer, a song writer and a pianist and then you got biryani! Wait .. no connection at all right? Coming all the way from Waah.. kya gaana he πŸ˜€ To Waah .. kya khaana he *_* is quite an achievement indeed. Something that happened all over accident is now everyone’s favorite biryani to hog in. Months after all the hard work in tasting all the biryani’s across the globe to expert tips from chefs and nutritionist and with sugar, spice and everything nice led to the rise of Biryani360 by Shayan Italia.

The menu is simple, no experiments with it at all. A simple veg biryani and the unveg biryani. No complications thus keeping it plain and simple. As always, Chicken being my favorite, I decided to hog in to the UnVeg Biryani πŸ˜€

The kitchen is big, neat and well organized. Not stuffy at all, with a separate place for the Veg and the Non Veg food to go in.

The UnVeg Biryani:

That’s a pretty unique name to give a non veg biryani as you probably would have called it the other way round πŸ˜‰ As I was getting ready to unfold the mystery hidden inside this red vacuumed tight sealed box, you tend to notice all the minute details that keep the biryani fresh.

You got the neat and clear time stamp sealed in to tell you what time it best suits you for. Keeps it hot and steamy for an hour. Then you got the Jannu balls and the Jannu dolls xD with a very tacky header saying its Impossibly fresh πŸ˜€ and yes you got the spork and napkin inside it. All this and you could feel that it’s still fresh out of the kitchen right into your hands. That’s the way I like it πŸ˜€

The Unboxing

The moment you open that box up you are taken to wonderland! That aroma of the rice and all the other ingredients bubbling inside waiting to come out and hit you. *Heavenly* The arrangement is simple and neat, a single serving of 360 grams of rice and that lovely white yoghurt filled in two.

Open it up!

The biryani was simple as it looks. You got these 3 premium yellow and white long rice grains along with those strands of saffron that just cover the rice on the top. The smell of em all is bliss, wants you wait for a minute to look at this beauty πŸ˜‰ You then dig in to find your veggies. The carrot for the crunchy feel in your rice along with french bean. You even got these raisins hidden inside which was the perfect ingredient to balance the spice.

You then find the chicken, boneless chicken which is a bonus πŸ˜€ Well cooked chicken which is cooked by using the blueflame technology. The chicken had its class of his own. Succulent and well cooked thighs. Hot on the outside and tender and juicy in the inside and being true on his words this had the highest Meat to Rice ratio in it πŸ™‚

You got all the herbs and the mystery spices mixed into the rice which makes it a complete die for. If you want to really enjoy it, leave the spork aside and dive into with your hands like I did. The rice was well cooked and I had to finish every single grain inside that plate :’) I could easily break into the chicken with no difficulty at all. Another thing that I noticed that there was very little oil in it keeping it lighter and healthier than the rest. The crunch in the veggies were good and I really did not mind the addition of veggies in my plate. πŸ™‚

Whats also really great about this biryani is that it has no garam masala at all. You get the spice in the beginning and it just simply simmers down slowly and slowly.

Now its time for the best of them all. The Yoghurt/Raita. The perfect partner in crime along with the chicken. This one was the best I have ever had with my biryani *_* Its rich and creamy, with all that spices and herbs used in it kinda reminded me of that chaas feeling. You can mix it along with the rice and you would still love it. A perfect partner to have it along with rice and it also helps you balance the spice in the rice. Irresistible and tasty πŸ™‚

Overall, this is one heck of a biryani to have. Although, these 360 gms of rice will look small and less in quantity at first but its really filling. With all the ingredients made perfectly, this was one of my favorite biryani’s to have. Value for money indeed.

* Le hungry bwoy wanting to have biryani *

Restaurant Number 1:
Me: Im hungry, I need 4 packets of chicken biryani!
Guy: Yes sir, where do u want it?
Me: Goregaon
Guy: Hahahha. No sir we don’t. We are based in dadar :/

Often get disappointed when your want to have biryani and you have no good restaurant nearby and look for something outside your range?

Fear not as Biryani360 will deliver anywhere and everywhere you want in and around Mumbai and even Thane. Kudos to that as then want everyone to have a taste πŸ˜‰

Keeping everything pretty simple and straight, this place is definitely one of my favorite places to order biryani from πŸ™‚

Eat well or they will Keeeeeeeeeel you xD

Bon Appetite πŸ˜€

  1. A big shout out from another food blogger. Must say Amrith, your writing skills are good. The emotions you put into your writing, the details (eg: blueflame technology) you go into, all speak highly of a good food reviewer. Hopefully we’ll get to meet sometime (over Biryani hopefully!).
